Waluigi is a fictional character in the Mario franchise, created by Camelot employee Fumihide Aoki. He is Luigi's self-proclaimed rival and Wario's partner.
He debuted in 2000's Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64 as a means to provide a doubles partner for Wario, mirroring the dynamic between Mario and Luigi. Before Waluigi, Wario was often without a consistent companion for team-based games.
